On Friday 9th September, Darlington Stroke Club handed in the "Save Our Stroke Unit" petition in to Councillor Bill Dixon and NHS County Durham and Darlington. In the 3 weeks in which the petition had been running, we had managed to collection over 780 signitures. Sri Lanka recently experienced its heaviest rains in 30 years. It is estimated that 15,000 older people are in desperate need of help. Tens of thousands have been evacuated and many have been forced to flee wearing only the clothes in which they stood, leaving behind all belongings.
