Our day centre, which offers day care to 160 older people 65 plus  is staffed by qualified care workers and suitably trained volunteers it enables people to have an interesting and stimulating day out in the company of others this may be for the customers own benefit, particularly if they live alone by providing a nutritious meal, assisted bathing and other personal services as well as planned activities the activities include, quizzes, dominoes, bingo seated exercises and memory games. The aim of this service is to ensure that older people with moderate care needs receive enough help to prevent further dependency.

Whilst at the centre customers can have access to hairdressing, Chiropody and aromatherapy.

In addition we provide a similar service for people with higher dependency needs who are 50 plus called “ Pals “ with 10 places each week.

Students from DarlingtonCollege have been gaining practical experience for social care courses at the day centre and customers very much enjoy the interaction with young people.

Domiciliary Care

Our home based care service provide assisted bathing for people 50 plus who are significantly house bound and either because of physical disability or lack of confidence find difficulty in bathing unaided. Customers receive a weekly visit for just under an hour and our care workers carry a portable bath lifter with them for use where necessary. Our service is registered with the Care Quality Commission is subject to their inspection and audit procedures.

We offer private care as well as being a provider of Care for people who have been assessed by the local authority as having care needs
