Our Mission
Age UK Darlington is striving to enhance the health and well-being of older people by promoting quality-assured activity, information and care; and ensuring that older people have the opportunity for choice and continued independence.
About Us
We strive to improve the quality of the lives of older people in Darlington by providing a number of services -
Social Care services
- Day Care (including care for those with physical, sensory or cognitive impairment)
- Home Care (including assisted bathing).
Health and well-being
- Fit as a Fiddle
- Illness prevention through early simple screening processes
- Fitness activity – geared to all levels of capability
- Good nutrition – the theory and the practice
Community services and development
- A befriending service, called Rely on Me which provides companionship and also access to information.

- Information and Advice
- “HE-AT” enables us to refer people of all ages to the right advice about winter warmth, affordability, fuel efficiency, and insulation options.
- DOV - an Older Peoples Forum - Involvement in opinion-forming and aspects of civic life
- CAP- Community Adive Partnership, a Lottery Funded partnership project with CAB Darlington and Welfare Rights which aims to increase the take up of advice in Darlington
Trading and business activities
- Providing insurance services
- Selling funeral plans, gas and electricity products, telephone “aid-call” etc
- Helping you arrange your holiday – either bespoke or packaged.
- Café 50plus at Bradbury House, and other catering services.
